Many thanks to Glen Woodcock and Jazz Fm 91.1 for featuring my composition ‘At the Palais Royale’ on his Big Band Show Sunday afternoon. Jim John and his Swing Shift Big Band with Larisa Renée on vocals did a marvellous job on this new recording. Here’s the segment if you missed it. Thanks everyone for all your love and support 🌹

The Story behind the Song: Valentines was sure in the air back in 2010 when I first composed this tune 'Sunny Day Blues'. Just a simple melody and a couple of verses commemorating those old Hollywood musicals with Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire. Ahh, those were the days. ♥️

The Story Behind the Song: It's about time I introduce the fabulous musicians behind me on this swing tune 'Table For One'. A romantic tale of 'separation by distance' from a loved one. Players with 'me' on vocals & electric guitar are Gord Maxwell (bg vocals) Rene Worst (acoustic bass) Chris Nordquist (drums) Graeme Coleman (piano) Drew Jureka (violin) & Andreas Schuld (electric & acoustic guitars). This is from my most recent album 'Waltz of the Blues'. 🌹 Painting by: Roman Fedosenko

The Story Behind the Song: When I was a youngster, my father had hung a 'Ship on a Stormy Sea' painting on the wall down in our basement. He came over from Europe as a teenager on such a ship. I often found him staring at this work of art, reminding himself of the life lessons he experienced during that time of his life. I would sometimes put myself right there on the high seas with him just to feel the wind in my face and the fear of the unknown. 🌹
